how do I deal with band-aid rash

Recommended Posts

Hi - just got home from Mexico - had my surgery on Thurs. Some of my incicions are puffy and itchy from the bandaids - when we removed the bandaids, a few of the steristips came off - what can I do about the itching - should I take a benedryl (still on clear liquids) use cream benedryl, leave them alone - one posting said to use a white cream (?) but not until they were completely closed and I am not sure that they are - It has only been 3 days - thanks for any help I can get

You can purchase steri-strip tape and replace it. There are also paper-tapes you could use. Before you do anything though, you should call your doctor and ask what he recommends.

I found out some time ago when I had a mole removed on my stomach that the band aid adhesive caused a bad reaction to my skin. When I returned to the Dr. she said I had colophony (an allergy to things made from pine). It made sense since I had always been allergic to Christmas trees. Anyway, I'm scheduled for June 22 and have told the Dr. that I have this allergy. He will be using surgical tape that does not contain any adhesive made from pine.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
