Omg! I'm feeling so much better today! ( it does get better) Still tired but no pain! Think the tiredness is due to my liquid diet! I'm sure that will get better with time. My incisions look great and some of the swelling is gone. No gas and I'm 15 pounds down from my pre op weight which was 304! I'm all :-)'s

Good for you.....congrats on the surgery, and the best of luck in your continued success :)

FYI, some of that tiredness is from the surgery. It's a major assault on your body, not to mention the anesthesia.

Yes, it does indeed get better. And when you start to feel the "zone" you will cheer with success. (The "zone" is when your pouch silently signals "enough," and you quit eating and do not clean what you have put on your dinner plate!). . . . . a few people never reach this, but I did, and at that point I no longer had fills put in my port. I do hope you experience this time in your journey as the feeling makes all you have gone through really worthwhile, and you will love your band! :P(I TRIED TO DELETE THIS DUPLICATE BUT IT KEEPS RETURNING!)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
