gbags 0 Posted May 13, 2006 I had my first fill yesterday. The doctor sais he initally left the band empty and put in 4 cc of a 10 cc band. After leaving the office I noticed that if I sip liquids I have tightness or what seems like pain in the chest. I also notices what seems like a slight burning feeling in the back of the throat. Possible acid like burning. I plan to be on liquids for a few days. I have fear of eating anything if I get pressure from liquids passing through. Is this common or am I maybe over restricted. From day one of the surgery I have never experienced any pain drinking liquids.
SherryW 4 Posted May 13, 2006 Didn't your doctor have you drink something before you left? If that feeling doesn't go away today I'd definately call. You have to be able to get liquids down and that pain isn't going to allow you to keep up the fluids like you should.
gbags 0 Posted May 14, 2006 I had a few sips of Water at the office and it seemed ok there. I can drink but there seems to be pressure while the Fluid goes down. Once through it subsides. I'm able to drink but it seems uncomfortable until it passes through. I've been siping today and it maybe getting better. It's too early to tell so far. SherryW 4 Posted May 14, 2006 swelling after your fill will happen, at least I know it did with me. So the restriction after a few days seems to be quite a bit for me then it subsided. If after a few days you can't get more than a sip at a time down I would at least give the doc a call and let them know. They may say wait some more time but, they may want you to come in. Always best to call and have a no big deal answer than to not call and have it be something wrong or that you're too restricted. Good luck with this and congrats on your great weightloss so far
