I am so pleased with myself. In May 2013 I weighed in at 119.6kilos. I lost weight on my pre surgery diet and weighed in at 102 kilos the day of my surgery. My most recent weigh in had me at 90.2 kilos. I have 20 more kilos to lose. I have had 2 adjustments and will be booking in for my final one shortly. Slow and steady, but I feel much healthier already.

I don't eat breakfast.... Never have. I do drink two or three cups of coffee every morning and this seems to hold me throughout the morning. I do one hour of cardio every day on the elliptical, mid morning. For lunch, I have.....protein shakes blended with frozen fruit, a salad, chili, tuna or chicken salad. For dinner, I eat whatever I cook for the family. I don't often snack throughout the day or night. When I do, it's usually Peanut Butter spread on a banana, or cheese and salami, or a Protein Bar. The only things I try to avoid are refined carbohydrates, like sugar, flour, white rice, white potatoes, white Pasta.

Here are my stats... Highest weight in 2012 (327 pounds), weight in August 2013 when I had surgery (271 pounds), weight on Feb. 10 (223 pounds). I'll weigh again on March 10. How are you doing?

I seem to be at a slum- I am down to 84 kilos but have been that for 3 weeks.

I am on Iron injections as my iron is extremely low.

I struggle to eat most days, wonder if I have too much in my band?

I don't think I am eating enough to lose weight.

I am thinking if going back to the dietician and going back on shakes. I lost 20 kilos on my pre op diet using shakes.

Any advice would be great

I have always read that when you get in a stall

( and it's very normal to stall for several weeks), that you need to shake THINGS UP! Change your exercise routine, eat one high calirie day, followed by several low calorie days. Do you exercise ? I found that doing HIITs (High Intensity Intervals) during my cardio sort of revs up my metabolism. I don't weigh daily or even weekly. I only weigh once a month bc I get frustrated with the little daily ups snd downs. I look at this journey as I want to have an overall weight loss throughout the months, but it will take MONTHS, not days or even weeks, to reach a healthy weight for me. Stay in touch. Btw, my name is Tammie.

Thanks. I had shoulder surgery the week before my band surgery. Full reconstruction, with complications. I go to physio but as yet am not allowed to exercise. May need another shoulder op.

My daughter had a band just over 2 years ago and went from 110 kilos to 52 kilos - she was my inspiration,

She says what you say - only weigh monthly and it takes time. She lost most of her weight in the last 8 months.

I guess I am just impatient.

Thank you so much for your support

I don't mean to be pushing the exercise (bc, you can't do too much right now, but I think that's what's getting me over a lot of stalls). I first sat on a stationary bike and just pedaled. It helped me bc I didn't have to bare my own weight. I started off very slow. I try to stay at or near the same calorie goal every day, but always tend to overeat one or two days a week....., not overeat like pre-band overeat, but overeat more than I should with the band. I still think I have A LOT MORE "good " days than "bad" days, and I have come to terms with the fact that I won't lose everything I want to lose on MY timeframe, so I relaxed about the whole experience, and I'm enjoying all that comes with this weight loss journey! Stay in touch!

Good advice. I am going back to the dietician. I really think I am getting obsessed with it and then disappointed when results aren't what I want .

Thanks for listening

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
