2 months post op NO WEIGHT LOSS

Recommended Posts

I'm on my 2 months post op and I haven't lost any lbs for 2 weeks, I'm staying on 800 calories a day, would I need to increase? I got my first fill 2 weeks ago but it seems like my stomach is still constantly growling. Any suggestions?

I was told to eat 1400 calories and I didnt lose anything until my calories were up around 1200. Maybe that would help.

You might just increase by increments of 100 calories until it works for you. I stay at 900-1000 and lose consistently. At 1100-1200, I wouldn't always lose a pound a week. And get your Protein in. That also makes a difference for me.

Good luck.

Tara, are you also exercising daily? What's your daily intake of Protein?

Have you talked to your doctor or does your clinic have nutritionist on staff you can speak with? Were you give a Post-op meal plan to follow?

My doctor recommend 1,200 calories for women and 1,400 for men per day.

Protein is over 60g daily. And no I don't exercise daily. I do walk and ride a stationary bike, but not daily. I still have over 60 lbs to lose so I know eventually I'm going to have to commit to a real exercise program.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
