DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted August 27, 2013 It doesn't effect the band directly though prolonged use of oral steroids can be an erosion risk, much like NSAIDs. With that said, steroids are notorious for giving people a huge appetite. I was taking monthly steroid shots in both knees, which can make weight gain & Fluid retention. I stopped the treatment after I got the Lap band. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
