Heh, it'll go quick. I had to do 4 months with the nutritionist, but it only took 3 because I got in for the first visit at the end of the first month, and the last one was at the beginning of the 4'th month. I guess they don't count the time, just as long as you see him/her 4 consecutive months.

I'm doing my own waiting. I have to be at the hospital in 24 hours for my surgery. Can't sleep a wink.

I'm waiting, too. I have four visits with the nutritionist and psych eval and surgeon and then I'm good to go in December. I've had my first appointment, one next week but time seems to be going so slow! Worse than waiting for Christmas when I was a kid!! Lol!

I'm at the very beginning. I met with my primary care doctor last week who ordered all the blood work. I have three appointments in September (Endo, Pre-Bariatric and my 2 hour Bariatric Class). The appointments are limited, if you can't make the one they give you, the next one is over a month. So, I make sure I make the dates they give me, I am so ready...

I'm with you guys, waiting, waiting......Lets get this ball rolling! Did the mandatory information session -- held every other month and I missed June so had to wait for August. Met with Program Coordinator a week ago, waiting for psych and nutritionist appointments to be made, then I meet the surgeon. Date gets set and there's one more meeting with nutritionist to get the 2-week liquid diet. Meanwhile, I have to stay fat enough -- I'm hovering at the required BMI of 40 and had to be creative at the weigh-in. Talk about stressful! Turns out the weight submitted to the insurance company is the weigh-in at the time of meeting with the surgeon. So I am not eating well or exercising properly, etc. -- would like to be trimming down and getting ready and instead I'm a ball of stress. Hate the wait (and the weight!)....

I have my first appointment with the bariatric surgery team this Thursday, and will find out how long I have to wait then. Patience is not my strong suit! I would love to be banded by the end of the year... keeping my fingers crossed.

The waiting will go by pretty quick. I started my journey back in April and I just go my approval on 8/23. I am scheduled for surgery in October. I had to go to the surgeons office for an initial appt, then a nutritionist, then PCP 4 times for weigh ins and to discuss diet and exercise, then get approval from psych before anything could be submitted to ins. Once submitted was denied twice through Cigna, then finally approved from second peer to peer. Hang in there...it will go by quick.

I started my journey on January 7th! I had 6 months of required classes, 3 appointments with the physical therapist, & 2 appointments with the psychologist. Trust me... It seems like the end will never come but it does! For me after the 3rd month things felt like they were moving faster.

Today I have an appointment with my surgeon and hopefully I'll get the green light and can file for approval with my insurance. I'm so anxious! I feel like waiting for 2:45 is longer than the 6 month program!!! Lol.

I'm currently playing the waiting game with my insurance. I was supposed to have gotten the surgery by now, but my Dr submitted my paperwork 3 weeks after they said they would.

I'm probably looking at an October 2nd surgery date. The waiting is definitely the worst part!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
