iturn2dj 18 Posted August 26, 2013 Any words of wisdom or advice? I'm so scared and nervous because I keep hearing all these people talking about how they don't know if they'd do it again...any input welcome! Summer
chrissy2013 2 Posted August 26, 2013 Hi Summer, I was banded 5/2/13. Couple things I can tell you. Drink lots of Water after, walk walk walk. The gas pain killed me. Some people do fine. The Water and walking will help. For me, the band is 99% mind over body. It's a mental challenge daily but gets easier in time. Follow the eating guidelines and do not deviate. I have a friend whom I met at my drs office prior to us being banded. She throws up daily because she doesn't follow the rules of the road with the band. Has you asked me 2 weeks out from surgery I would have said I questioned my decision. Now, over 3 months. Best decision I've ever made. Good luck to you!!! PJkitty 139 Posted August 26, 2013 I am one week out and I haven't questioned my decision yet but I have been saying to myself that I hope all this liquid food and feeling like I NEED to have something at least semi solid to eat is gonna b worth it. I know it will all b worth it once I am all healed and am able to eat solids again it will b, I hope. I don't want to eat things like sweets and cheeseburger....at this point, I would b ecstatic to have some chicken and veggies lol. Junk food was never my problem...guess it was my portion sizes so I hope this helps me....best of luck to u...u will b in my thoughts
skb123 308 Posted August 26, 2013 Best thing I have done! I had none of the usual post op complaints other than a little gas, so I was very happy! You'll be just fine! Best wishes to you in your new journey, 1 Bandista reacted to this
readysetg070113 1,476 Posted August 26, 2013 2 months post op and I do not regret it. I am amazed how such a small amount if food keeps me satisfied and the 3-4 hours. So much easier than my past dieting. This tool was the missing link in my weightloss success. First week was hellish the gas pains killed me but after that I was back to old me. Eating in public first time was scary but you know what no one cared what I are or how little good luck and this forum is a great place to be as well I read lost daily to stay focused and motivated 1 Bandista reacted to this
