Had my banding Thursday, pain pulls are great nausea patch in place. Feeling pretty good. I did sneak a bit of cheeseburger, of which I feel sooo guilty of.

How are you sleeping? My surgeon places the port right above the left breast, so needless to say it pulls tremendously, so I'm having to sleep on a recliner. I'm so looking forward to getting into my bed.

I'm 4 days post- op and the boredom is killing me! All these food commercials, so my head hunger is on the rampage!

Sorry to hear you are not sleeping, what a horrible place for a port. Mine is right above my belly button, I am no longer sore I am 10 days post-op and I feel great so far . Started soft foods, last Wednesday. But feel like I am eating all the time. I am ready for the feel I think :-/

Hey Jan how are you feeling?

My dr said this is the most stable location to put a port and reduces the risk of the port flipping. I can't feel it right now so I can't wait to go back on Wednesday and have him show me exactly where it is.

For the most part, I'm doing fairly well. Still having pulling pain in my port site. I'm so over the clear liquids'. I've had way too much time to think about food. It's those boredom head cravings, but I'm managing'

I am so excited and terrified at the same time. I hope the process will go smoothly and I can get banded sooner rather than later.

I will be glad to have a fill, I feel no restrictions and I eat everything that is soft, I feel like I am putting my weight back on. Maybe I need to go back to liquid diet

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
