miss679 39 Posted August 23, 2013 I had my first fill this morning and it was a breeze - a little pinch, a little burning and some liquid to swallow a few times that didn't taste great but otherwise no biggie. I have 4 ccs total in my band now (none was placed during surgery). I'm on the clear liquid diet for 3 days, then 1 week of full liquids, 1 week of soft foods, then on to introducing "normal" foods. I'm excited!
GoingforGoal 1,734 Posted August 23, 2013 Wow that's a long transition. How long have you been banded? The norm I see is a few days of liquids (to include thicker ones like Protein shakes). But that is usually after 6 weeks of being banded and already transitioned to solids. I'd be curious to learn more about what your docs protocol is Thanks for sharing
miss679 39 Posted August 23, 2013 I was banded on 7/26. Had only 1 day of Clear Liquids before surgery. Then 1 week after surgery and so on (just like I'll be doing now post-fill). I'm just happy this post fill diet isn't a full week of clear liquids - I can handle 3 days. At least that's what I keep telling myself
miss679 39 Posted August 23, 2013 Oh I should add - after the 3 days of Clear Liquids i can have Protein Shakes (full liquids) but I can also have puréed Soups, sugar-free puddings, cottage cheese, soft low-fat cheeses, skim milk, oatmeal and mashed potatoes.
