baileymb 0 Posted March 31, 2004 Yes, I now know how just about EVERY part of my body is doing! I have seen just about everything either by an x-ray, graph, blood level, monitors, chart and yes scales.... I am now at the tail end of my appointment list with just 2 more appointments to make. I have at least 7 more to go to, but at least they will all be made. Adding up all my benefit time at work so far and it has tallied 40 hours off to go to these appointments. I sure hope it is worth it! I am hoping to be banded my mid May at the latest. And it look likes a foreseeable date! CAN'T WAIT!! Baileym
Debra 0 Posted March 31, 2004 I had my stress test today -- I was there for 4 hours! But the heart is good and I have the go-ahead! Tomorrow I will get my TB test and then I will be done, done, done! And you are exactly right, it is appointment H*!! What's the latest on your lungs? Or is that yet another appointment!?! Don't fret, this fall we'll be hanging out at the group meetings, all done, being the voices of experience!!
baileymb 0 Posted March 31, 2004 Hi Debra, I think I just need a new set of lungs, they have been giving me such a problem since I was pregnant 7 yrs ago. My asthma is so bad, my blood Ox level was 93-95% in Dr. Deol's office. It should be 100%, but I can't remember the last time I saw that on my reading! Ahhh yes, I can see the light at the end of this appointment tunnel! Totally looking forward to the middle of May! TB test?? Stress test?? What kind of test was it? I had a stress test at the relaxing level... Don't know whay they called it a stress test! O well! Good luck and keep in touch! Baileym;)
gretat 0 Posted March 31, 2004 Hi Dr. Deol's Girls!! I am now less than 2 weeks to the DAY! I am on the pre-op diet that you too will be required to do---basically the adkins. The appointments seem to be endless, but as I thought about it, it makes me realize how professional and preventative Dr. Deol is being. She's just making sure that we are going to be okay and that there aren't any surprises during surgery that would put our lives at risk. (And thank goodness for BCBS!!) I hope to see you both on Tuesday at the support group (7-8 pm at Troy Community Center). We are so lucky to have this board and to be with the same Dr., having our surgeries close to the same time!! Debra 0 Posted March 31, 2004 Ha! I see, BaileyMB, that you have started posting on Dr. Deol's site! Good ... somebody had to get us started! I'll be over there soon myself! Yeah, let's try to meet for sure on the 6th. Where is the Troy Community Center? Look for me; I'll be the heavy one! LOL! I had to have the Stress test 'cos both my parent's had heart disease, otherwise Dr. Cragg said he wouldn't have done it. It started w/ an IV of some radioactive stuff, then Xrays then waiting then tread mill (I lasted 4 minutes!) w/ more radioactive stuff, then more waiting, then more xrays. Then I had my appt. to go over results. They say there is not that much radiation ... HOWEVER ... there was a sign in the lab that said if you were planning to go to Canada you should get a note from them stating you had this test. They had quite a few patients getting DETAINED at the border 'cos their level of Radioacativity was too high!
baileymb 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Feels REAL good knowing that there is the 3 of us going through this together with the same doctor! I would like to go to the meeting, but I am not sure if I can this time. Dr. Greening said that I couldn't this time, can't remember why.. But if you t two go to the next one, most likely I will try real hard to get there! All I know is that I am feeling better about being ALMOST done with my tests, and that soon I will be on my way to a healthier, thinner life! Talk to you soon!
