txsonicguy 262 Posted August 20, 2013 It was May 27 th of this year when I decided "enough is enough". I weighed in that day at 475 pounds and vowed I was done doing this to myself and my family. Forward 10 weeks to this morning when my scale told me in that computerized voice (yes, it talks) -"399.8 pounds". There was something about hearing the number start with "3" instead of "4" that almost made me cry. Then I remembered I was a 42 year old man and not a 14 year old girl! When my weight is on the way down, it fluctuates 2-3 pounds a day, so I may see a "4" tomorrow, but just seeing that "3" made the surgery and everything that's gone with it seem ok. Everyone on here has been so helpful and I hope to pay-it-forward. Thanks to everyone. 30 kespy74, kll724, Ms. Purt and 27 others reacted to this

NJDad 173 Posted August 20, 2013 I felt the same way when I went from a 3xx number to a 2xx number. It is a bit overwhelming. Congrats on the great progress. As for being a 42 year old man, rather than a 14 year old girl..........don't worry about that at all. You are making good progress, and you have every right to feel proud of your accomplishments. Every few weeks as I see a lower tens digit in my weight 289, 279, etc........I take a picture of the scale and send it to a good friend of mine. We revel in my glory for a few seconds, then on with the day. I'm 46, not 16. And I don't care how old I am.....I share it. 8 Kitt3000, kll724, ♕ajtexas♕ and 5 others reacted to this

SIJoe 111 Posted August 20, 2013 Thank you for sharing this. Congratulations on your great results! i needed to hear this today. I'm 11 days post-op, and today - out of nowhere, came feelings of frustration, doubt and second guessing - why did I get this band? Is it going to work? But your words have given me hope. Thanks again. 2 Kitt3000 and Debbie3sons reacted to this
