Hey guys,

Thanks for posting back! I have lost 125 lbs. I think that i might go back for one more fill and see if i lose anymore weight. If i dont i guess i will go find a good plastic surgeon and consult with him.

Cynthia - Did you have much swelling? I f so how long did it take to go away? One more question, how long were you out of work?

Thanks

Angela

Swelling can last up to 6 months. Usually after a month or 2 you will get an idea on what you will look like. It's a patience game. I would take a week off for a tummy tuck...What are you thinking of having done?

Cynthia,

I need pretty much everything as far as a breast lift, Tummy Tuck, and my legs are going to need major work. I can wait for everything but my legs. my inner thighs droop down like curtains or something!!! Very very YUCKY!!! I have always carried most of my weight on my hips, butt, and thighs, but it seems like my thighs still have quite a bit of fat on them. I also want to have children in a few years so i can wait until then for my breast lift and tummy tuck.

The reason i asked about the swelling is because my aunt just had a tummy tuck and breast reduction and lift. She is 3- 4 months post op and her stomach looks like she is pregnant!!!! The incisions on her boobs are still opening up and draining. I wonder if it is just her bodies reaction to the surgery or if it is the doctor or maybe both? She did go to a highly recommended doctor. i just want to keep looking around for a better surgeon.

Thanx,

Angela

Well, everyone reacts to surgery differently. I would look for another surgeon...Thigh lifts are tricky. Make sure you have a surgeon who is good at that. Do your homework...

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
