lolarose13 147 Posted August 17, 2013 I was banded 3 months ago with TR. I have United Health Care and it doesn't cover any Bariatric Surgery. True Results told me that if I need a hernia repair I just need to pay $5500, +$1500 copay to the surgery center and $400 for the EGD to see if I had a hernia. I paid all of this cash. So 2 weeks ago I got a bill of $2000 for anesthesia and a letter from my insurance saying I owed $25000!!!!!! I talked to TR and they transferred me to the surgery center billing department (external to them!) and they told me to scan the bills and send it to them so they will help me. That was 2 weeks ago, and I don't have a response. I don't know what to do, I'm buying a house and I'm so afraid to have a huge debt now anyone with the same situation? I too have United Health Care, however I'm on a government widows VA survivors benefits and they covered all but 40.00 of my procedure. Did you get anything in writhing prior to your surgery?? That's where I would start. Good luck.
