nursejen28 33 Posted August 17, 2013 It takes a long time to really understand what "hungry" really is. I think for some of us we will never really know. If you are on Clear Liquids and are post op or pre op you are defiantly going to feel hungry! You are not eating anything!!! Try some hot tea, I like chi-tea it has some flavor and anything hot Helped me when I was on liquids.
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted August 17, 2013 Hunger is the body's natural response to needing nutrients. You will always feel hunger at some point. The point of the band is to dim the hunger so it's a lot less frequent, not remove hunger signals entirely. Being as you're on liquids, I'm guessing you're newly post op. Being on liquids with no fills usually results in a lot of hunger. Here's a link you should read to get a better understanding of the band: http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and 2muchfun reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted August 18, 2013 You're only 3 days post op. Most of us don't feel satiety until we get a few fills. Until then it's just another diet. 2 catfish87 and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
HotButterFly 981 Posted August 18, 2013 Cheer up, honey! We've all been there! This too shall pass.... There will come a day when you'll forget to eat, because you're not hungry at all. Look forward to that day
LeeB1946 261 Posted August 18, 2013 Was not hungry on liquids, but mushie foods I started to get hunger. The more fills I have the hunger gets stronger. Now, don't get scared! This is just me and I would expect it to happen to me because I do everything backwards. I now have 5.5cc in my band and hopefully will get .5 to 1cc in about 3 weeks. With me I get a fill and don't have hunger for about 1 to 2 weeks and then hunger sets in and gets worse until I get a fill and I start all over. I have had 3 fills post surgery. My doc puts in 2cc at surgery so in all I have 5.5cc.
Cocoabean 430 Posted August 18, 2013 Liquids dont stay in the stomach for any length of time. They also don't produce any sense of satiety. Hang in there! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
