My nerves are a mess. I'm excited and so nervous at the same time. I'm about to start a huge new journey in my life and I'm doing to alone. No one knows but the girl who told me about it and a friend that doesn't live near me. Just nervous!!!

Being nervous is normal, but you're going to do great! I had mine in January and I have absolutely no regrets.

I had mine 4 yrs ago & like you kept it private it's so much easier keeps people from asking you all the time " how much have you lost" it saved my life I had many medical issues and would do it again , you will be so happy with the results it's not always easy - but what is? I can tie my shoes now and have a new life will be praying for you

I had mine May 10th and have lost 38 lbs. I only told a select few and probably wont tell many more. You'll do great, I find that I do better when I visit this site a few times a day, it just gives me a little boost. Just remember your first month you may not have much of a weight loss even though you'll be taking in very little calories. This is your healing time and use it for that. No regrets here.

Its also helpful to make a ticker like you see at the bottom of alot of these posts. That way, you watch your results. I look at other peoples tickers, it encourages me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
