reneegerbs 2 Posted August 17, 2013 I am 3 days post op and have so much discomfort. My back and shoulders are killing me. I can't really sleep unless it is sitting upright. Any suggestions. I have walke and the gas is coming out but it is not relieving the discomfort I have. Pain meds are ok until they wear off and then back to the same discomfort again. Please give me some advice. TracieR 88 Posted August 17, 2013 I used a heating pad to help with the pain. You can also try gas x. For me staying on top of the pain meds was what helped the most the first week post op. Good Luck!
dee257 1,516 Posted August 17, 2013 may sound crazy but try some slow walking...that really helped me...
SashaWLS 412 Posted August 17, 2013 Walking, a LOT of gasx mouth melt strips, and light pressure (using the flat of my hand) on my belly sort of guiding bubbles out and down. Not hard, just as you would stroke a child who has a belly ache. It breaks up the gas...

michpell39 399 Posted August 17, 2013 Heating pad was a life saver for me with the shoulder gas pains, and like the others said walk even small slow steps
