Daves killer bread

Recommended Posts

I had a sliced toasted with about a table spoon of Peanut Butter and some sugar free jam. It's like a treat for me.. I was a big bread person. My question is is what I ate "okay" to eat? I was kinda burping a lot after but it went down really nice.

And where do you think is the best place to find a 1 min egg timer I haven't been waiting long enough between bites recently. Feeling guilty.

Thanks guys!

I personally believe in moderation, not deprivation. There is nothing wrong with what you ate. I would just be sure to count the calories towards your daily allowance.

Btw, I eat bread all the time.

I used to eat 1 slice of wheat toast and 1/2 cup of egg for Breakfast. Since my last fill I was too tight so now I either do a shake or just the egg. I agree with Missy though about the deprivation. If you deprive yourself then you are just dieting.

Nothing wrong with is, just eyeball the calories and compensate. What goes down is highly individual on lapband so just keep mental thoughts as to which foods cause too much discomfort.

Nothing wrong with bread. Like Missy I eat bread and don't deprive myself of things I like.

As for a timer there us a free app called Eat Slower that I have on my phone. Works great, you can set it to sound, vibrate or both.

It can also depend on your personality. To some people certain foods are like drugs or alcohol. To an alcoholic there is no 'moderation' and abstinence is the only policy. It's kind of like soda. If soda or bread are your addiction or your weakness and all it takes is one little drink or bite to get you hooked again you are better off just staying away. If you can keep it at just one slice, then go for it. I doubt many of us in here got this way by moderation though. Lol.

Good point!! I do avoid things like Cheez-Its and chips because they've always been my trigger food so I guess in a way I do deprive myself but at the same time I no longer crave them. Perhaps if I allowed myself a taste it could be trouble. I would just rather not mess with things.

Awesome App. Thanks for mentioning it. Good to have in the toolbox to assist in training yourself to chew slow...

I've had bread a few times since being banded and I didn't scarf down the whole loaf, it's about moderation and self control, you had both. It was perfectly okay to eat and sounded delish! :)

Sounds ok and good! I usually only had the bread served at restaurants. Now, I don't eat that becsue I am staying away from gluten. But, if your band can tolerate it, and its not an addiction, have it for treats!

If its the bread you're worried about, you should definitely try THIS:

Low carb, glutten-free, and ORGANIC, among other great qualities.

Thanks everyone!!! I am only really worried about the bread stretching my pouch. Only have had toast maybe twice since banded in February. never just plain old bread. I'm worried about getting stuck on it. It's kinda like lettuce for me I just don't eat it anymore.

I love Dave's! On fact I know Dave his from the Portland area. Of you've never heard his story go to their website and read it totally inspiring! I first met him when they sold at farmers market in Beaverton Oregon. I don't eat bread but when I do on occasion it's always Dave's.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
