Impatiently waiting on surgery date. Start pre op diet early?!

I get banded in October. My insurance requires 6 months of supervised doctor visits. I am so impatient, but over half way there:) I have lost 30 pounds since May by only drinking Water, Portion Control, & working out. My pre op diet will be 4 weeks but I was thinking of starting a couple of weeks early... Just to get used to it because I am a big food lover. Good or bad ideas?

Also any feedback on what others have been doing in the mean time waiting for surgery. Workout routines? Weight lifting? Preparing the body for weight loss.

My advise is focus on changing your overall eating lifestyle. Don't just focus on the "pre-op diet" focus on how you are going to eat for the rest of your life. Protein first, then veggies, then carbs.... and portion sizes 3-4oz of protien, 1/4 cup veggies, 1/4 cup of carbs. This will put you steps ahead in the game.
