vlb11752 0 Posted May 11, 2006 I was wondering if anyone else maybe had this problem...or if that's my problem at all. It seems that when I eat I take a few bites and its like there is a gas or air bubble and I can't eat anymore. I get kind of a burning sensation and have little burps...then sometimes the slime comes. I have to wait an hour or so and then I can eat again. I take gas-x before I eat but that doesn't seem to help. Now that I've had another fill it seems worse. The really strange thing is, when I eat alone in front of the tv (I know you shouldn't) its better than when the hubby is around or when I'm at work. My friend says it sounds like I am swallowing too much air when I eat. If that is the case how do you stop? Anyone else having this sensation. I'm not sure I have described it effectively. Other than that I'm feeling great and have lost 50 lbs. Any help would be appreciated.
Marimaru 7 Posted May 11, 2006 I went through the same thing. Even so far as that I would eat, and then PB because the food couldn't go down because the air was trying to come up. I'd PB, and then have a big burp, and then be fine. To be honest, I don't know how I stopped eating so much air. I just tried to be a little more aware of it, and I also started drinking with straws. This isn't true for everyone, but I swallow less air when I drink with a straw, so unless your doctor strictly forbids it, you might give it a shot.
fiveholts714 0 Posted May 12, 2006 Me too! I don't know what to do about it, though.
