In the beginning i was a youtube fanatic. Watching everyone's journey giving me high hopes for mine. People weighing about the same as i did in the beginning have lost nearly 70-80 lbs by now (almost 7 months post op). And i can now say I've lost almost 50. Its a size able amount but i still have 80 left. Now youtube just makes me feel discouraged and that i may be struggling or may have issues.

In the past 3 months i may have lost 10 lbs. the weight loss has come to a screeching halt.

Anyone else get where I'm coming from?

I felt the same way. I dropped 50 pounds fast in my first year, I was upset, I wanted 60-70.. I lost only 7 in the next year, I maintained. I went online & got a food list of Low Glycemic Index foods & started watching everything that went into my mouth. Measured it all. 1 cup or less... I walked daily. Next month's check up! Down 15 pounds & 3 pounds each month for the last 2 months. I'm now going to get back on track & I'm hitting the gym with a trainer too. I want my last 42-47 pounds GONE!

Good luck! You can do this!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
