I have Protein Shakes if I don't get enough Protein. Protein fuels our muscles and it takes muscle to burn fat. As to 60g of protein that would only be if you weighed 200 pounds! You need .3 grams times your weight, thus if you weigh 250 you need 75g of protein. I have no problem getting my protein in so far.

I eat 3 oz Protein at each meal...along with 1/2 cup of veggies and 1/4 cup of carbs. We're all living on small portions. If the band is working for you correctly, this is enough food to eat. And no...I don't get enough Protein so I supplement with Protein powder..and I've been suffering from hair loss due to this along with insufficient calories. It is also why we are all on Multivitamins and other supplements in order to remain healthy.

This does not mean we are weak and unable to function. Many of us are functioning better than ever due to our weight loss and have more energy as well because we are not carrying around so much extra weight. Please find out if there are any seminars in your area so you can speak with someone about your concerns. I understand how you feel. If you are not banded, it's hard to imagine feeling satisfied on a fraction of the amount of food you are likely consuming currently. All I can say again, is that with the band, it is very doable and not that difficult once you have the correct restriction.

I eat a maximum of cup of food per meal though usually less. I have no problem getting in at least 60g of Protein daily. I eat about 1200 calories a day.

It's actually very simple because the band controls your hunger.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
