Most of u are probably on to your week two, congrats. Im on day 3 tomorrow. My head. This sucks. But I can do it!

yes you CAN do this.......the first 4 or 5 days is the hardest....detoxing from the chemicals....you realizing what head hunger is vs really being hungry...you are this close......once you realize you can do this, the rest will fall into place...hang in there :)

I am on day 7. I was so craving a hamburger yesterday that I sat in the parking lot of McDonald's for 20 minutes. Then I drove away drinking a Protein shake. If I never see a shake after post op stage I couldn't be happier.

Lol! There is a burger king around the corner from me! And a popeye's. and a McDonald's. so much food. My pre-op allows for 2 cups of veggies per day. I am 100% certain i probably had 6-8 cups tonite for dinner:-( but i stayed stong and only ate steamed veggies. My pot at the end of the rainbow is sept 6- puree day! i've been dreaming of pureed meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Literally, dreaming!

I too am on my 7 day pre-op! I am VERY hungry!!!! My head hurts and all I think about is food that il never be able to eat again! I've done well but it has been very hard and I've lost 5.5 lbs. My band date is Aug 20 and I can't wait! My pre-op diet is 3 shakes a day 3oz of Protein 2 cups salad greens and 1/2 cup veg twice a day. I'm trying but it's so hard.

I had a huge headache after a few days but then it died down..funny thing is I did good on my pre op diet until the day before my surgery when I decided to eat just a spoonful of the sloopy joes that my mother had fixed....bad move....THAT gave me an even bigger headache. I started my journey weighing 317. I was just banded today and was down to z85! Im feeling pretty good

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
