I got banded July 31st and I just cried really bad today. When I got banded my doc put 4 cc in my band. Omg I can't even breath I asked can they remove some. My doc office just said drink Protein Drink as soon as I take few sips I'm full. I want to eat I feel like I'm starving myself. I don't want to drink Protein drink all day. I'm suppose to be on mushies. This is very hard for me I thought as you go along you feel restricted not just right off. I don't know what to do I want him to unfill me a CC so I can at least eat my mushies. And not feel so full of I take 1 bite I hate this.

You're probably still swollen from surgery. As the swelling goes down you should be able to eat some more. I don't see why it would be a big deal for them to take a cc out to help you though. You might also try taking some liquid motrin to help with the swelling. I know how hard it can be when we have the ability to eat taken away from us. It's more than just a physical hunger, it can affect us mentally and emotionally as well. You'll make it through this. Just keep drinking liquids and maybe try different Protein Shakes that you like better to help. The last thing you want to do is dehydrate because that can make you even tighter! Good luck!

Having a fill that quickly after surgery isn't that common. I'd assume you are still swollen from surgery. Hopefully in the next few days the swelling will go down, you'll loosen up and things will fall into place.

Good luck!!

While the swelling from the surgery is probably exacerbating the problem, you really need to get used to the idea that you won't be eating until you're "full" any more. I eat a fraction of what I used to, probably less than 1/4 of what I used to eat, and you just have to stop... otherwise you will not lose any weight with the band.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
