BAYOUGAL 0 Posted May 10, 2006 I am new to the idea of LAP BAND. I am still researching, but I do have an appointment with a doctor next Monday. I was researching a few months before my ortho doctor told me that I should consider having WLS. I just don't know if it is going to be ok because of my age. I am no spring chicken anymore. I have learned a lot lately, but still have a lot of questions for the DOC Monday. My husband is very supportive, don't know about the kids, I have mentioned it to them but no response. I will appreciate all the info I can get from this forum.

I am 62 and am 13 days out today and doing wonderful Have dropped 15 lbs. so far. Could not have ask for things to have gone any better. I researched about four months and then attended a seminar and that made the decision for me. Would do it again in a heart beat. Let me know if you need any more questions answered. My hubby was behind me all the way also so that is great.
BAYOUGAL 0 Posted May 10, 2006 I was born and raised in the DEEEP South! We call it LA. That stands for Lower Alabama. I'm sure I will have more questions later. It is great to have a fantastic husband isn't it?:clap2:

LindaV 0 Posted May 10, 2006 Hey Bayougirl, I'm from Idaho and I am 9 days post op. Before I saw my sergeon, I ran across a thread on this site about questions to ask when considering getting a lap band. If you go to General Lap Band Discussion it is a thread entitled " Some Questions to ask about LAPBAND" Or you can just do a search for that title. I hope this helps. Good luck.
