Hi all, I have never been diagnosed with PCOS but I know most definitely I have it. I have all of the above symptoms. I hate it, all of it especially the unwanted hair. Has made life hell for me in that department, self conscious, never fully able to be myself. I read there isn't a cure for it, but I do hope the losing weight will help a lot. I have never concieved a child. I want one, my boyfriend doesn't :( I am 35 and really it's almost now or never. lol.

Hi, I have PCOS too. It's really a pain in the a**!

I want to get the band to lose weight but honestly, I want to stop having PCOS.

I dont have the sugar problem but hair problem, depression, anxiety...i hate it!

For all you that got the band, did it help the symptoms?

I was diagnosed at 17 with it. I don't have periods, I take pills four times a year for my periods. I'm infertile at this time, which I'm hoping my lapband fixes, cause I so want atleast one child. I also have the darkening on my neck, arms, etc. I was on the metformin but it gas me diarrhea and my doctor took me off. I'm down 30lbs and I was banded on 10/29/12. I'm hoping to be down 20 by the end of the month. Living with pcos sucks but I'm hoping there will be some changes soon.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
