PrettyThick1 1,860 Posted August 6, 2013 There is no exact science to this, every band and every body is different - keep that in mind and try not to be discouraged. It seems you've hit a plateau before you really got off the ground and I'd hate to think you deprived yourself by going on the preop diet before you really needed to. Don't try to overdo it, your weight will start to come off soon. Remember less is more, so walking is very good for you now. Don't be discouraged, it's going to happen - you are not out of control by any means. 3 JOANNE M HOLL, fearfefe and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this

lisacaron 5,075 Posted August 6, 2013 PT is right you are not out of control. If I read your post right you just had surgery? If that's true then you need some time to heal, and you might even find a bit of a weight gain from all the fluids and swelling from surgery. Everybody and every person's experience is different. My husband and I were banded in the same week, we have gone through all the phases together. Today at our Dr. visit I needed a fill and he did not. I lost weight and this month he maintained. Everyone has their own rate of healing and weight loss. The key is to find what works for you, and work it. Don't feel discouraged and try not to beat yourself up, just be honest with yourself and you will soon find those pounds melting away and your health getting better every day. Best of luck to you. 3 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!, PrettyThick1 and Adrienne21 reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted August 6, 2013 You're only into this for one week? The first 30 days are a time for healing and if you just happen to lose weight that's a bonus. The band won't work it's magic until you begin to receive adjustments to the band. And even after the band is adjusted properly you will see minor one week plateaus or even month long plateaus. Losing fat is simply burning 3500 calories more than you consume. That equals one lb of fat. But our bodies are not made solely of fat. You have muscle and fluids that make up much of your weight and adding or subtracting those bodily items will make your journey a roller coaster. So, relax, follow your doctors rules and enjoy the ride. BTW-I'm surprised your doc is giving you a fill so soon? Maybe it's just a post op visit? Most of us waited 30-90 days for our first. tmf 1 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
ChicagoRose 650 Posted August 6, 2013 Every one is different, and it takes time! Looks like you are doing wonderful as some patients on this website hardly loose anything throughout the process. Good luck!
