ms kat 25 Posted August 9, 2013 I am 4 days post-op and have also had bad gas pains in my chest and shoulders. They ease after a couple of hours but it is sooo uncomfortable. My port site hurts to lay down and sit up with. And I can only lay on my back to sleep but am more comfortable sitting on the sofa. My heat pack has been my best friend the last few days!! I have mainly been sipping Water and sucking on Popsicles. I had broth the first two days but feel over it now. Looking forward to some soft foods in a couple of weeks' date=' like scrambled eggs! But my surgeon said I have to wait till two weeks after surgery. Thin liquids the first week, then thicker liquids in the second week, then soft mushy foods in the third week. When is your first fill scheduled for?[/quote'] Angemc, I am 4 days post op today and it seems like our stories are identical. I had a follow up yesterday and because I am still struggling with the chest pressure( which is primarily from the hiatal hernia he said) I am to remain on Clear Liquids for 2 more days. Sunday I graduate to stage 2 . I had a much better night last night, actually stayed in bed from midnight to 6 am which is a huge improvement. Feel less pressure this morning so I am hopeful the worst is behind me. I go back to the dr next Thursday and he said I won't get a fill until 6 weeks post op... Hope you have a better day today too! ms kat 25 Posted August 9, 2013 When did you have surgery? I can't have mushers until 8/21 and was banded 8/5. I think once you get your fill' date=' you won't be able to eat as much. The schedule the doc gave me is this (times are approx): 7am: 2oz of cream of wheat or yogurt 10am: 2-4 oz of Protein shake 12:30pm: 2oz of Soup or yogurt 3:30pm: 2-4oz of Protein Shake 6:30pm: 2oz of soup or pudding It also states to start with 2oz servings and build up to 4oz[/quote'] I go on mushiness the 21 st also. I was banded the same day as you. I like that schedule, I think I will adhere to it
healthydnp 96 Posted August 9, 2013 I am in full liquids right now. I was told to eat when I'm full. I was banded on Aug 6 th I get to go on mushy foods in a week. Will be on that for a couple days then get to eat real food.< /p>

healthydnp 96 Posted August 9, 2013 Healthy dip' date=' congratulations! I wish you success and good health! How are you feeling?[/quote'] I am better today than I had been. Pain meds are helping. I am having to learn when to eat and what hunger feels like with the band. It is work to stay hydrated as well. Thanks for asking!
jellybean_ 1 Posted August 9, 2013 Hi everyone, I'm new here I only discovered this phone app yesterday and have been reading everyone's stories. I was banded August 1st weighing 108 kilos. 1 week later I'm down to 102. I'm excited yet very paranoid that the numbers will stop going down- it just feels too good to be true. Please reassure me this will be ongoing I haven't started exercising yet. Vanir really all be Water weight?

I am also feeling less pressure today so I'm pleased about that! I was starting to feel like I wasn't going to improve. My surgeon does the first fill after 3 weeks. I'm booked in at 3 1/2 weeks post op.
dawalsh 919 Posted August 9, 2013 Was banded yesterday morning. Totally felt like a truck ran me over' date=' but woke up this morning feeling a bit better... I know once I make it through the next few days, things will start to feel more "normal." I'm surprised (but not complaining!) that I don't have more gas pain (I remember it well from when I had a c-section 3 years ago). Just pain on my left side where my port is. I'm excited for the days to come! [/quote'] Happy band days to you! Congratulations! 1 Amyzing reacted to this

Walking and deep breathing is the best thing to do. It will help your body reabsorb the gas that they used to inflate your abdomen.
