I had liquids for 2 weeks. I had Clear Liquids for 10 days and full liquids for 4 days. The pureed food for 1 week, then mushy food for 1 week and soft food 1 week. Now on normal food.

I started experiencing hunger after the first week and I stayed hungry up until week 4 when I started eating soft food.

My doctor has me on liquids for 2 weeks, 2 Protein Shakes a day made with 2% milk, that was a big treat for me!! Wednesday I start 2 weeks of puree foods and again 2 Protein shakes a day. Than phase 3 is mushys for 2 weeks, Seems I won't be eating regular foods for another month! Oh well I will get by! As Pooh bear says there's a little grumblie in my tumblie!

You need to follow your doctor's post op diet exactly, regardless of what anyone else did on their post op diet.

Cheating can result in serious injury and complications. It's not worth cheating.

VERY well put

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
