Banding in the morning!

Recommended Posts

Good luck!! I got mine on Aug 2nd, the pain is there but it's more of an annoying pain so don't be scared, I had to get some medication to calm my anxiety and that helped a lot!! So if your really nervous just ask them for something. Let me know how you feel tomorrow if you are able to!

The biggest problem I had immediately after surgery was pain when I tried to sleep on my side, I had severe back pain already so sleeping on my back has always been an issue, the swollen area on my stomach felt Fluid filled and heavy for several days after surgery and that was a little uncomfortable but the pain was tolerable with a little liquid hydrocodone that my doc gave me.....I did have a little trouble breathing a few hours after surgery but they left me on the oxygen and sent a respiratory therapist in to see me every four hours and everything turned out fine. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi. I read about pain and was worried. I had no pain at all. Went to work 3 days later. Stayed overnight at hospital bec I suffer from diabetes. I was glad n happy to bec u want to make sure everything is ok before u go home. Only prob I had was getting out of bed. No gas then. Now more after eating. Just an issue to deal with...nothing more. My nutritionist said I had no pain bec I drank go veggie a powder drink substitue providing u with lots of veggies we normally dont eat. It will all depend on yr body. Everyone I read has a different experience. In the end, the majority would do it sgain if they have to including me. Keep me posted post op.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
