journeyofkeisha 6 Posted August 6, 2013 I was banded on the 1st of August. I follow the doctor's orders strictly. I walk around. I've read where people eat directly after surgery. I'm too afraid to eat. I was afraid to move from Clear Liquids to full liquids. I'm terrified. I don't want to experience any unnecessary pains that I would cause by not listening to my surgeon. I have a followup Wednesday and I have plenty of questions. I'm actually looking forward to the soft food stage. I'm looking forward to my new self.
Vlynn 1 Posted August 6, 2013 I was banded on 6/25. I had a hard time eating at first just because I really wasn't hungry. One thing I loved was egg drop Soup and French onion soup minus the solids. I very quickly got tired of chicken broth. When you do finally decide to advance, definitely take a small bite and wait a little while to make sure it goes down. As far as the pain goes, I did yoga exercises every morning at 5 am in the bathroom while my family was sleeping. It helped so much. Also, starting one day post op, I was walking 1-4 miles a day to work it out. After walking I would lay on my side for a little while and the pain would go away. Hope this helps
lauren_frances 29 Posted August 6, 2013 I was terrified of moving from clear liquids to full liquids as well but I called and got the ok from the doctor and this morning I had some sugar free pudding and it was AMAZING! I'm looking forward to some creamy Soup for lunch!

Countryheart2000 18 Posted August 7, 2013 I was banded on Friday the 2nd' date=' surgery went great didn't have any problems, but I was in pretty bad pain after surgery. The pain has gotten somewhat better now, I think the gas is starting to move around more, I've been walking and trying to get as much Fluid in as possible but it's hard when you have a ton of gas pain. I'm also having this weird pain that starts at the top of my stomach and rolls up my esophagus then goes away, I keep thinking its gas but nothing ever comes out. Has anyone else experienced this?[/quote'] I. Was banded yesterday the 5th and I aim having the same thing from the stomach and esophagus. I did have hiaental hernia repaired. The first few weeks are for your bodies to recover. You were pumped with liquids and you're swollen on the inside, hence the "gain". Don't fret, you'll start to see it all fall into place. Walk as much as the pain allows you to... And BOTTOMS UP! Drink your water! Drink drink drink! 1 ms kat reacted to this
