Hi All - Does anyone have any recommendations for shampoo/hair care products for thinning hair? I've had this issue prior to surgery due to my PCOS but I'm thinking I don't want it to get worse. Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks!!

I'm a hair dresser and for thinning hair I ALWAYS tell my clients to take Biotin and use Nioxin products. They aren't cheap but they work. Down sides to it are it takes about a full bottle of Shampoo and conditioner to notice and you can't stop using it otherwise you'll go back to the way your hair was.

Biotin, zinc, and Choline isolate all help. And yes... I use Nioxin products.

I'm also worried about Hair loss bc my hair is already really fine. Do you have to order this Shampoo online or is there any store that carries it??

Do you have a hairdresser you go to exclusively? If not Walmart salons have the Nioxin products. Your hairdresser might be able to give you a better price.

I can usually find Nioxin products at Ross, Marshalls or TJ Maxx as well. I open the Biotin capsules and mix them in the blender with my morning Protein Shake, just a thought. Although I have noticed hair renewal, I have noticed that I am not losing clumps of hair like I was before. My dermatologist recommended using the Rogaine for women to see if it might help with some regrowth. I have cysts on my ovaries that cause hormone fluctuations which had already caused thinning hair on the very top front of my head. After surgery I was losing hair by the handfuls at each shower. I panicked and went right to the dermatologist. He recommended the Nioxin products as well.

Thank you so much for the feedback! This really helps and I have just placed an order for the Biotin pills and a Nioxin Starter Kit from Amazon. :)

I'm also a stylist. I've suggested and now use Nioxin professional hair products for over 17 years. I also take Biotin in chewable form (found at Walmart) twice a day. Both have helped, but after a bit over 3 years being banded, my hair has gone from thin to thick and back many times. Finally, I realized my Protein intake makes a Huge difference! I try to stick with 60 to 90 grams of protein a day. If I slack, the hair begins to break and come out in clumps in the shower. Hope that helps! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
