ugagirl1116 5 Posted August 4, 2013 I have lost almost 50 lbs since march 15th, my banding date, and I swim 4 or 5 times a week. I have been working my butt off and not losing what I thought I would. Is there anything else I can do that I haven't been doing? I have worked up to swimming a mile twice a week and going to aqua fitness classes and swimming after twice a week. Thanks ahead of time for any advice
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted August 4, 2013 You're actually losing exactly how you should be. You've been banded about 20 weeks. The average weight loss with the band is 1-2 pounds per week. You've lost an average of 2.5 pounds per week. So, you're actually ahead of where you should be. 2 mrsto and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
ugagirl1116 5 Posted August 4, 2013 True!!! I guess I just see other people who are losing weight faster and get a little envious. A friend of mine was banded in September 2012 and has lost 120 lbs to date and does not workout although she was a little over 50 lbs heavier than I was when I started. It's like the quote in my signature says "comparison is the thief of joy". Don't compare yourself to anyone. You are a unique person and you will lose weight exactly perfectly for you. How fast or slow anyone else does is irrelevant. All that matters is that you are losing. 3 mrsto, kah1213 and Lady VS reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted August 4, 2013 Listen to Missy. We are all different. If you lose slowly you are far more likely to keep the weight off! 1 kah1213 reacted to this
kah1213 311 Posted August 4, 2013 Try not to compare yourself to others. I know it's hard, but we are all so different. I was the same as you in the beginning, but trust me if you keep at it and see your doc regularly, the lbs AND inches will come off. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
