Emotions running high

Recommended Posts

So my emotions are on full blast these past two days. My very best friend has been fighting for her life since May 2009. She has had some major victories as well as many setbacks. Friday she was given another nasty setback.

Anyway, she has now begun some "finals" and I am not dealing with it very well. One of our things was Disneyland. Girls trips to Disneyland just because. She told me last night we need to plan another trip soon. I have ALWAYS been an emotional eater and these past two days have been bad. I have maintained my eating within my band parameters, but find myself searching out food.

Anyway, I guess I can look at this as a NSV of sorts, but it is hard finding joy while thinking of the future. All I want to do is cry.

Thanks for letting me "vent".

I'm not sure if I'm understanding correctly, and forgive me of I'm not. Are you saying your friend is dying? Again, forgive me if I misunderstood (and I hope I did misunderstand)

So sorry to hear that! Keep your head up, and please be strong for her and also for yourself! Don't give in to sadness and unhealthy food.< /p>

msapp77, I'm so very sorry. I've lost so many friends and clients-that-became-friends over the years and I'll tell you it never gets easier. Ever. But what I can also tell you is that, "into every life a little rain must fall" and that rain can only help you grow into a more compassionate human being.

Think about this: she is your best friend. Best friends don't come around very often. Sure we all have friends and acquaintances, but there's something about that "best" friend that sets things apart. They become a part of you, interwoven into your life. But what really makes them special is that they somehow make you want to be a better person. Something about them makes you who you are. And that is what you will always carry with you wherever you go, whatever you do. They are a "gift" in your life. Your gift. And that's something no one can ever take away from you. It will be yours forever. How loving is that?

So return the favor. Make her "finals" your gift to her. Enjoy every moment with a smile. She wouldn't want it any other way. Don't let her down. There's no doubt in my mind she's thrilled for the decision you made to get healthy, right? Then see it through. She's counting on you to succeed.

msapp no one will ever know exactly how you feel during these last trying days, nor should we pretend to. It's your heart, your emotions, your journey. Just know that we're all here with big shoulders, boxes of Kleenex and wide open ears. It's all we have to give for now. But you have a best friend who's counting on you to make her laugh, smile, vent and hug. Give her that gift. The gift of you. -Dave

so sorry you have to go though this I lost my hubby and son so I understand completely and my heart hurts for her and you. Turn you pain and hers over to God and it will help more then you know...death is his way to end pain sometimes and he is waiting for her with open arms..when I pictured this it made my heart hurt just a bit easier. I am not a churcher person but I do talk to God and ask for his support and he has been very generous to me.

When you go on the hunt for food seat down and meditated with palms up and just stop your mind from wondering and focus on one item mine is a rose bud...its hard to think of food or a sick friend when you focus on something lovely. it really works hugs to you and your friend

Dave, I think I love you in a very non-romantic way.

msapp77 what can I say that wasn't so eloquently said in all the posts above. All I will say is what a blessing you are to her. I wish I had a best friend like you.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
