Easy as pie!

Had my first fill and it was super easy! Took all of 5 minutes. I have a little over 3cc's in my band. I was hungry when I got to the appointment, I'm not hungry at all now. Yay!

Congrats. Hope this one holds you off for a long time. Just remember this sensation and understand that when swelling goes down and when time goes on your band will typically not feel this tight. But this is what you need to achieve with your next fill. It's all good foundational experience hehe

Ditto! First fill yesterday. 4cc's. I was all nervous and asked about a numbing agent b/c I'd read here that many get that and my doc assured me I wouldn't really feel anything. He was totally right. His feeling around for the port was uncomfortable but not painful, and I hardly felt the needle at all. The sensation inside was.... Unusual. Can't say I've ever felt anything like it before. Hard to describe but I def knew something was happening in there :)

Interesting that you say you could feel something happening around in there. I didn't have any immediate sensation at the time of my first two fills. The first one added 3.2 cc's to the 3 that were already in there from surgery. The second fill took it up to an even 7. The one I just had this week was only .25, which was perfect for a band to the fullness mine is. But with this last fill, when she pulled all of the Fluid out, I actually felt the band loosen......like a sense of taking off a tight belt and feeling relief. It was an odd sensation, and really illustrated just how much the band constricts that area of our stomach.

My Dr. uses a numbing agent but it's so quick and easy.. I only have 2 cc's there wasn't anything in my band until 6 weeks after surgery... he also will not give me a fill as long as I am losing and not complaining of hunger before 3-4 hours after eating...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
