Less Restriction After a Fill

Recommended Posts

I went from 2.00 to 2.75 and feel like I have less restriction now. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Yes, that can happen, especially with such small amounts and it being your 1st and 2nd fill.....I'm surprised you had any restriction at all...

Many times it would take me a day, two, three to feel the effects of a fill. Early on it would take a week.

Also, if your doc removes all the Fluid first to verify volume, when the fluid (and added fluid) is returned it can tighten differently. Think of it like a dog collar..there's a little wiggle room there. When the fluids out it's a floater and when it's filled it can tighten in a different area. Yes we are talking about a smidgin of distance but still enough that patients have different sensations afterwards

Kim is right, it can take a few days or even up to a week to really feel a fill. However, as you're losing weight your stomach becomes leaner and the band gets looser so you could just be dealing with that as well. Just keep getting fills and you should be fine!

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
