I really hope it didn't, either. It's really important you get into your surgeon ASAP. If your band did slip, the sooner they catch it and start to treat it the better your chances of avoiding another surgery. The biggest mistake people make is putting it off, or worse, not going in for months because they don't want an unfill.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Mis is correct. Not a result of losing weight. Actually people who have had their bands a long time and have lost alot of weight usually need fills to compensate for the weight loss just to maintain. I don't want to suggest a slip, but it is possible. Not sure how long you have been experiencing this but extreme stress, hormonal shifts (think woman's time of month) or dehydration are culprits for increased restriction. Not sure if any of this applies to you but do tell your doctor about any personal changes in your life as well in case it's not a slip. Good luck hon and keep us posted

Thank you ladies for your input, I am praying that I don't have a slip.. I've been like this for about 2 weeks.. the only thing is that I haven't experienced alot of heartburn. Isn't that a sign of a slip?

It can be, but you can have a slip without heart burn.

My doc told me that I would be really nauseated and not able to eat anything or keep liquids down if a slip had occurred, in most cases. Hopefully, you will be okay!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
