MandaMom23 684 Posted July 30, 2013 Totally normal to have a gain immediately after surgery! I was up 8lbs when I got home from the hospital, and it took over a week to come off. They fill you up with gas, and then there's swelling, and Water retention. It'll come off, but right now, just focus on healing. 2 stept04 and dlcjazz reacted to this

GoingforGoal 1,734 Posted July 30, 2013 dlc, it's combination of inflammation as well as being loaded up on IV fluids. It'll take about 3-5 days to be rid of the excess Fluid and up to 2-3 weeks for inflammation to completely subside (as it is very individualized). Best thing to do is get mobile to expedite the process. 2 PrettyThick1 and dlcjazz reacted to this

cnotche 2 Posted July 30, 2013 I was banded yesterday as well. I am pretty nauseated and have severe pain in my right shoulder; my stomach feels like it was kicked with a steel-toed boot. I can tell I'm dehydrated but sipping my Water doesn't seem to be helping. I'm afraid to drink too much at once for fear of making the nausea worse.
Lorettanjgal 19 Posted July 30, 2013 Sux..doesn't? Much more pain than I anticipated. Luckily I'm not nauseous yet. Sip Water constantly. Drops down ur throat, walk around the house, and pain med. Good luck.
