Ive had two fills since my surgery May 10th and I was losing a pound or so each day.Since my last fill I haven't lost or gained any weight. I have a bruise where the Dr gave me my fill and I don't feel any food restrictions. Has anyone gone thru this or heard of anything similar. The last fill was 1.8cc's.

The average weight loss with the band is 1-2 pounds per week- not per day. Don't expect to lose weight daily. It's simply not realistic.

When you say you don't feel "food restrictions", I'm not sure what you mean? Having adequate Fluid in the band doesn't mean you can't eat certain foods or the band stops you from eating. It will always be your job to make good food choices and to stop eating when you're no longer hungry. What the band is supposed to do is allow you to be satisfied on much less food for much longer periods of time.

Here's a link that will help: http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html

Best wishes.

Need a little more info such as what your first fill volume was. What did you feel differently from the first fill to the 2nd fill. Without knowing this I will comment that when we all start our diets that our body readily dumps it. If you are minimizing volume, calories etc the weight loss can be significant and can be lost quickly. However, that will dissipate in time as your metabolism levels out. Again, without knowing all the details (to include your food intake and exercise output) perhaps you are leveling out and will have to wait until you reach 'green' resistance.

Side note: It is not realistic to want or expect to lose 1-2 lbs per day. Regardless of other's loss, your previous (or starting) trend, it simply is setting the bar too high and ultimately will lead you to disappointment/failure. You need larger setpoints (like weekly losses for instance). This takes away daily fluctuations (water, one bad meal etc) and gives you a more realistic glance at your trend. If you put 10 ppl on the same diet with the same factors (height, gender, weight etc) they will all lose differently. Just saying

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
