How soon did you go back go work? I was banded on the 23rd and will go back on the 31st. No one at work knows what type of surgery I had. Any tips on what to take to work to get my Protein in? No mushies yet

I was banded on the 22nd and today was my first day back. Only worked 3 1/2 hours tho. But I'm a vet asst and we lift dogs all day. So wasn't much for me to do cause still can't left. I don't if the band had anything todo with it but my back is killing me. Stand on my feet all day..well what time I was there today. Which everyone knew what kind surgery I had and everyone was very supportive. I drank my Protein shake before I left for work..

I thought I could go back after one week and I could not do it. If you have a desk job it might be easier for you to go back. just listen to your body and if you are not feeling well while at work try to take a couple more days off. I have a more physical job so thats why it took me longer. As far as in Protein everyone is different but I couldnt get anything down for the first week or two. They said it was normal but to still try to keep sipping. you can try Isopure or slimfast high Protein Shakes. The chocolate one taste the best for the slimfast. you could always call your dietician and speak with him/her about some possible options.

My doctor said 1 week if a desk job and 2 if a more physical job. Well I own my own business, don't laugh but I'm a wholesale baker! Thus I make baked goods and pastries all day! I do make natural healthy Snacks as well but I'm afraid it is the lush pastries that pay the bills! When ever you do return to work best wishes and stay healthy!

Try Muscle Milk Light and just tell everyone you are on a new fitness program. This way when you start looking and feeling great they won't have so many questions they will just think it's working for you.

I didn't hide my surgery but there are times I wish I had when people keep looking at me wondering why I am not 100 pounds lighter in only 3 months!

I went back to work after the first week, and really I wish I had stayed home for 2 weeks. I was a bit tired getting back into work even though I sit behind a desk all day, you can't sleep there. The drive, the seat belt and my desk kept hitting up against my incision and I got one of them infected about 3 weeks out, and it took longer for it to close up.

I made it through no pain just a bit of discomfort, but I would definitely recommend taking the extra time home, or starting back half days if you are able.

Best of luck to you!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
