carrie.0508 136 Posted October 18, 2013 Georgia it's good to see you back. I would be willing to bet you don't have a slip. There is a search feature on the site that will show you many a post about slips that you could compare yourself to. However' date=' if you're feeling "stuck" I would say your fine. You'd be in some pretty good pain and have other issues than just being stuck if you had slipped. As far as stuck goes, slow down, chew more, smaller bites. If you find yourself burping a lot while eating you're moving too fast. It's a new experience to us all and we are all learning to change years of habits. You'll figure out what works out best for you.[/quote'] I burp super loud (makes my hubby laugh) if I eat to quickly or try to eat more then 1/2 cup. Guess that's my body saying "stop shoveling food into your face tubby!" Lol. 1 5.0junkie reacted to this
5.0junkie 770 Posted October 18, 2013 Carrie, no need to go back on mushies unless it just makes you feel better in your head. You ladies are killing me with all your worry!!! You would be in excessive pain whenever you ate if there was a slip along with things like choking, fever, night sweats, acid reflux and vomiting. Keep progressing but slow way down. Just cause doc says eat solids doesn't mean you should stop off and pick up a burger and fries for lunch. Slow down and take care of yourself. Your band will let you know when you've pissed it off and you should take note of what causes that. Oh and just cause you can eat as much as you want right now doesn't mean something bad either. It just means you have no restriction and its time to get a fill. 2 GeorgiaRN and arch002 reacted to this
Ariley 3 Posted October 18, 2013 Thank you for your reassuring words as always! I in my head know I am doing well but when everyone says they started solids at 4-6 weeks it's hard not to second guess myself and my doc.
Ariley 3 Posted October 18, 2013 I started solids on week 4. 1st week liquids. Week 2 and 3 pur?ed and soft. Every one is slightly different. Most important thing besides following your rules is to listen to your body! 1 arch002 reacted to this

Doin' it for me! 3 Posted October 18, 2013 How is everyone doing? Is anyone else who was banded towards the end of the month back on normal foods? I asked a question in the post op section and it sounds like most don't progress from liquids and mushies till 4-6 weeks and my doc transitioned me at 2 weeks and I haven't had any problems until today when I ate a couple chicken strips and now don't feel too great. I was banded on the 17th with an empty band. I'm back on normal foods, but can't wait for my first fill because hopefully I won't feel so hungry.
PuraVida37 715 Posted October 18, 2013 I had a doc appt yesterday and I guess my port is NOT where I thought it was! LOL It's in my belly button. I guess it's my muscles or something that I thought I felt. Now I feel kinda stupid. LOL Anyhoo, I got the green lights for the gym, but only walking the treadmill, no jogging for 4 weeks, and no weightlifting for who knows how long. I also saw nutrition and she said I sound like I am right on target, even though I feel like I'm not getting enough. I hate how they say don't worry about calories. Just tell me if 800 is enough! jeesh! I am getting my Protein, though. She said no more than 100-120 carbs. I can't wait to get out of Stage 3 and on to 4 because I need some more substantial foods than what I am allowed currently. 3 more days. My first fill will be Nov 5th. Doin' it for me! 3 Posted October 18, 2013 Mama had to buy a belt today! Haven't had any belts in my closet for years! Was at the other end of the spectrum just hoping my pants would button! Banded 9/17, 20.5lbs down, Water aerobics 5x a week, strength training 1x a week, and yoga with my 7 year old 1x a month. Feeling good, but ready for my first fill on the 28th! Have a great weekend, everyone! 1 PuraVida37 reacted to this

jenwebber 13 Posted October 22, 2013 Hi everyone! I was banded on 9/19/2013, and just went for my first fill the other day. I am still getting in the swing of things, but so glad to be done with the liquid and mushy phase. If anyone uses my fitness pal, be sure to add me....jenwbbr97. GeorgiaRN 36 Posted October 22, 2013 I got my appt changed and so my first fill is Oct 31st! So excited! I'm beyond ready! One more thing, did anyone else have a hernia repair? I did and I've been told not to lift anything over 10-15 pounds for 6 weeks. But I have a two year old. I can say I've really tried to follow that especially for the first 4 weeks but it's getting hard not to pick her up. She wants me. I broke my ankle Aug 3rd been out of work, couldn't pick her up then either - so it's been crazy! Now I've gone back to work, feeling good, and so I've been kinda picking her up! She only weighs 25 lbs - she's small. Nothing hurts or pulls - but now worried all of a sudden that I may have screwed up. Geez it's hard not to do things when your constantly needing to do them! Nursing and being a Mom require moving, shifting, tugging, pulling (but I haven't pulled or picked up any adults at work)! 1 NewMeDebbie reacted to this

You should call your doctor about lifting your daughter. Yes, I had the hernia repair also and I've been lifting some things (groceries mostly), I did watch my 4 grandkids on Sunday and had to pick up the 2 yr old grandson when he slapped a cactus! Oh how he cried! He's fine now but I forgot about myself when the baby was hurt! however, I had no pain or irritation. Still I was worried about it so I called my clinic yesterday. They told me at this point, if I felt no pain, I was fine but to continue to take it easy for another week or so...

5.0junkie 770 Posted October 22, 2013 Vida I am doing great! I can't believe that it will almost be a month since surgery and I feel like it was years ago. I'm already so used to the band and the new lifestyle. I love not having that dragging feeling that unhealthy foods used to give me. I'm down 28 pounds and already feel like I have tons more energy. I still have no fill scheduled as I am very satisfied with the little solids I eat and my Isagenix shakes. Been meeting all my nutritional goals and just can't believe the difference in how I feel. I've already got people asking what I'm doing to lose weight cause they can see a difference. Just wish I had done this sooner.
