arch002 34 Posted November 13, 2013 Checking in ladies.... Down 35 since surgery and had my first fill on Monday. Doc decided to be aggressive and gave me 4cc. What a difference a fill can make. Didn't have any soreness from the fill and I can definitely tell things go down slower. Pretty good feeling knowing that things are working as they should. Great job!!! I have my 2nd fill next week and I am so ready for more restriction. Currently have 3ccs and he said he would do 1.5 next time. Currently down 28lbs. 1 5.0junkie reacted to this
NewMeDebbie 196 Posted November 13, 2013 I had my second fill yesterday which brought me up to a total of 7cc i'm hoping now that once i'm of the liquid and mushes that i will start to feel a lot more restriction and get that Portion Control that i've been looking for. The second fill couldn't have come any sooner as i was really on the verge of just letting it all go with the scale just staying steady.. getting the fill has given me new hope and once again i feel ready to tackle this weight loss of mine.. trick now is to stop weighing myself every day.. they where very happy with my progress so far and reminded me that slow and steady is really the best way to lose weight. so here's a YEAH for all of us on this board.. I'm with you...my weight is staying steady! I only lost 1 lb last week! and nothing the week before that. My boyfriend won't let me weigh everyday because I was obsessing over the scale. so now I only weight on Fridays but it's still a big let down when you follow all the rules and when friday comes...nothing! My 2nd fill is next week on Thursday (currently have 3 ccs)...I hope it helps. I still think I'm eating too much in calories to get enough Protein so I'm going to discuss with my dietician tonight after our support group meeting... MyFitnessPal tracks you food and exercise...then you can print out the pages for each day. I can use these to go over. Just a suggesttion.
5.0junkie 770 Posted November 13, 2013 I still wasnt even planning on getting a fill but I wanted to have a little more restriction for the holidays. I guess according to my doc, I'm one of the rare ones that can go without fills and do great. Since I was losing with no fill he's wanting to try and speed up my process even more. Hope it works!!! It's weird how many people are already asking what I'm doing or telling me I look thinner. Pretty good feeling. It's amazing how much more energy and such I have as well. So far so good. 1 NewMeDebbie reacted to this
Daliaha 78 Posted November 13, 2013 I wanted to get another fill, I some times dont feel the restriction.. but then Monday, I had Italian sausage .. It got stuck.. and omg it hurt. Need to remember to chew well. I still havent done much going to gym, just dont feel it yet.. But a few friends can see it in my face the weight I lost. I kinda sorta can. but not much. Just frustrating to not lose fast ya know.. lol But slow and steady wins the race. -Debbi 1 NewMeDebbie reacted to this
NewMeDebbie 196 Posted November 14, 2013 ok guys, I need help! I am holding steady at the same weight. I am mostly eating the right things and now walking 2 miles a day 4-5 days a week and going hiking on saturdays for at least 2 miles, sometimes more. I write down everything I eat and I'm going back over the last couple weeks. It seems I get on average of about 1000-1200 cal a day give or take (if I stay away from peanut m&ms!). I eat about 200 cal every couple of hours for about 5 mini-to-avg meals a day. My main focus is to get enough Protein because my biggest fear is my hair falling out. I do take a couple of meds that are on my doctor's list to cause weight gain so wondering if this is an issue also... I've had 1 fill but now have little restriction and just keep my meals small. Am I eating too much? What is the average calories per day you guys are eating? give me some ideas of meals you eat?
5.0junkie 770 Posted November 14, 2013 Debbie two things, first, you should be measuring also, not just weighing. Just cause you don't show a loss in weight doesn't mean you aren't losing inches. Two, sounds like its time to do some shock therapy. Try and vary your calorie intake for a few days anywhere from 600 to 1500. See if that helps. When you eat the same amount daily your body will get complacent and your metabolism will slow way down. Keep steady at shocking your system randomly and you just may be surprised. NewMeDebbie 196 Posted November 14, 2013 If I try shocking myself by going lower, how do I overcome the want for food? I'm not staying satisfied... I am trying to drink more Water but I get to craving chocolate. I think it might be in my head but I don't know how to conquer it... Tomorrow I will try going lower to 600, do I only do this for 1 day or a few days?
5.0junkie 770 Posted November 14, 2013 I only do a day of shocking either being below 1000 or above 1000. I don't follow any routine and I think that's the most important part. Keep your body guessing, never let it know what's next. As far as chocolate cravings go, it's time to get over that!!! There are tons of options out there to satisfy instead of candy type chocolate. Bad carbs invite more bad carbs and that's one thing that causes cravings. Maybe find a chocolate Protein Bar you like or drink almond milk that's chocolate flavored. There are just so many more options. I actually eat a product from Isagenix that's chocolate with green tea infused and some other healthy items. It's great for me to feel like I'm not doing without. You just need to find one that you like and what helps you the most. Remember, it's a new life you are living and this is a process. Take your time, test, adjust and try. You should be amazed at the results 2 intelirish and NewMeDebbie reacted to this
carrie.0508 136 Posted November 14, 2013 I eat around 800-900 calories a day. Once every 10 days or so I do 1200 calories. I am getting another fill Wednesday of next week. Thank goodness because I am not losing much at all, I am down 35 lbs from surgery day. But all the sudden my weight loss had slowed wayyyyy down. I kinda live in this constant fear of stretching my pouch or my band slipping. I haven't thrown up or anything but just being a worry wort. I have been trying to get back into the gym but dang it's hard to get into the habit again :-)

Then I exercise. After about an hour I make a shake for Breakfast. I use a cup Non-Fat yogurt Plain with some fruit and a cup of 1% milk. I blend until it is really creamy. All together my morning has 35 grams of protein and only 400 calories.Plus the calories in the fruit. I am good for about 4 to 5 hours after that. 1 NewMeDebbie reacted to this

I last about 3 months then find myself paying the monthly fee for no reason. I walk the parking lot at work each day at lunch time. I am up to 2 miles in 34 mins. It's mostly covered so that helps...Then on saturday we go hiking on short hikes (at least 2 miles). Sunday is my day of rest... 1 PuraVida37 reacted to this

I do like the special k Protein Bars you can get in the weight loss area of the stores... NewMeDebbie 196 Posted November 15, 2013 Can you change to 3 weighed and measured meals a day to see if this gives you the jolt that pushes your metabolism?? Also, you exercise quite a bit...are you loosing inches and gaining muscle?? Just my thoughts!!! I am exercising more and my boyfriend says I am losing size so yes, that could be holding up the scale some... The other issue is with measuring, I don't take the time to measure but I buy a lot of pre-packaged stuff like greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and single serve fruit like a banana or apple. The problem comes when I don't do this, we do eat out a lot because I'm not a great cook. I do choose healthy and eat slow though just don't get to measure. I know that my palm is the size of meat I should eat, and my fist is about 1 cup of veggies, ect. but I can eat about 2 cups of food. Hoping my 2nd fill next week will help with that part... Thank you for the ideas

I'm not a morning person and I have to be at work by 8am so I exercise around 2pm after I eat lunch. I notice that after that walk, I'm not hungry for a longer period of time.
