Any other September 2013 bandsters?

I'm hungry right now and I'm sitting in the Drs office (not for lap band) thinking about what I could grab to eat on the way home. I've had a Special K Protein Shake and Gatorade today :/

its not the best choice but i was out with my boyfriend over the weekend who was starving so we pulled into a jack-in-the-box. They have blueberry oatmeal! it was delicious!

If you are on liquids then i would recommend the fruit and yogurt shakes from McDonald's or sonic.

Georgia, stop in the grocery store. Grab a yogurt or applesauce that are in the tubes so you can eat on the go.

5.0junkie, sorry to hear your still on liquids. My Dr moved me off day 4 post ok. Mushies and soft food help give you more energy. Hang in there. Hopefully you don't have much longer.

I'm in my first full day back to work, and it's kicking my butt.

I had pintos and cheese on Saturday. Oh I was a happy camper. (While my family scarfed down a little Caesars pizza with breadsticks and soda. Didn't phase me... Haha!)

Little Caesars is my crack! My husband knows I may have to kill him and bury the body if he wats that in front of me. Lol! Kidding (sort of).

5.0junkie - you can always try calling your doctor and asking if you can try more? Tell them you are ready and hungry...

That's what I did and they allowed me to advance a little after I called and asked :)

it smelled good but it wasn't appetizing. I find if others are eating junk as long as I'm eating something healthy with them it doesn't bother me.

My parents had a dinner party the other night and I was there. appetizers, dinner and several options for dessert. It was like a feast. And here I was sipping on my shake. I felt like a drug addict needing a fix. I was nearly salivating!

Seems like all the September people have moved off liquids except for me. I'm jealous.....

Not me, except yogurt, til Oct 14th.

I am hungry because I didn't eat enough during the day, I think. After my daughter gets off the bus, I am going to eat some greek yogurt and take a well deserved, much needed nap.

Ok so get this. Just left my first post op appointment. Doc says I'm doing great and excelling better than normal. He told me to do whatever I want from here. Told me to call him up when I feel ready for my first fill. Told me to take it slow, introduce foods one at a time and keep things soft progressing to regular as I felt fit. He basically told me that no matter what he told me to do it wouldn't matter because my body is my body and it will let me know what it can handle. I'm just supposed to use my judgement and listen to my body. I'm thinking I love this guy for the freedom but it also seems like giving a fat guy the keys to the donut shoppe. Wish me luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
