strwbrrysarah 4 Posted July 26, 2013 I got banded today at about 10:30am!!! So now it is 10:30pm and I and sorta afraid to lay down to sleep! I am a stomach/side sleeper, and I am feeling awkward right now...on my back. How/ where did you sleep on those first nights of being newly banded?
christy40 3 Posted July 26, 2013 I'm a stomach side sleeper and I haven't been able to sleep on my tummy at all, and very little on my side. Too much pain, I guess it depends on your pain level when you lie on your stomach. They didn't tell me not too. Hopefully in the next day or so mine will improve. Good luck! DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted July 26, 2013 I slept on my stomach from the night of my surgery. I've had many abdominal surgeries and always find sleeping on my stomach feels great- it's like a compression garment holding everything in. The trick is not to try to roll onto your stomach because that will cause painful pulling. Crawl up your bed on hands and knees until you're over your pillow then gently lower yourself down onto your tummy. When you want to get back up, do the opposite, push up onto all fours and crawl off the bed. Don't roll and it won't pull. Best wishes

Mary G 10 Posted July 26, 2013 Recliner is my bed! Banded 7-22-13 I tried to sleep in the bed once and could not get comfortable, felt like everything was pulling. But getting out of the bed was very very pain. Much easier to get out of the recliner. Ad I had like 4 pillows behinds me..lol I gonna see if I can sleep in my bed tonight since some of the pain has went away.
HotButterFly 981 Posted July 26, 2013 Use pillows to support you on your back, side, or between your legs... Just experiment with different positions until you find the BEST! I've found that laying down and getting up were the most challenging things for me. Today (Friday) is day six for me and I'm still having a LITTLE trouble, but each day it gets better!! SWEET DREAMS! <3!
