My insurance just approved me yesterday! I'm working with true results Houston. How long did it take to get a surgery date after approval?

Once I knew I was approved I called the Doctor's office immediately! I got a surgery date that very next day, which was awesome. I would go ahead an make the initiative to call because True Results would have waited weeks to call me, I just happened to call the insurance and they said I was approved. Congratulations by the way! :D

Believe it or not, it took four days to get approved! I figure it is the universe telling me that I'm doing the right thing.

I am also a True Results Houston patient!!! I have BCBS and they took a whopping 2 days to approve me. You can find out faster by calling them directly, since TR doesn't know until they get the letter in the mail - which will take about a week to happen. After I was approved the soonest they could get me in was 3 weeks later, because my surgeon (Dr. Christopher Reilly) was going on a 2 week vacation! It felt like an eternity, but it flew by so quickly! So I would say you will go for your preop appointment in another week or so and you should have your surgry by mid August at the latest.

Good luck...keep us posted!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
