m.simpson88 56 Posted July 25, 2013 I had surgery yesterday and my port site hurts so bad. I cannot lay down or get out of the recliner without help can't even go to the bathroom without help sitting down and getting up. I have a low grade fever and the dr's office has already called in antibiotics. Is this normal?? I feel like I have pulled muscles in my neck and legs and I have a lot of pressure in my chest. rosalie941 1 Posted July 25, 2013 I was banned on Monday, July 15. So far so good, but I also had pain at my portal site and I think it is very normal. Feel better soon.
drehn88 251 Posted July 25, 2013 The abdominal pain is very normal. It will last for a week or two. The pain in your chest is probably gas. I had pain in my left shoulder and pain/pressure in my chest. It went away in a week. Hang in there. It will get much better I promise.
Cwalband 215 Posted July 25, 2013 Girl, I can so relate! It was hard to get up off the recliner, and don't get me started on trying to pee! Man, it was very painful! I'm on day 3 post and the gas is finally subsiding.. I was in tears the second day because the gas made every which way I tried to sit or lay super uncomfortable. I'm feeling better though and it will soon be better for you! Best wishes!

m.simpson88 56 Posted July 25, 2013 The worst part is no matter what I take I can't make the fever go away. I have had a good amount of Water and half a Protein Shake today but i am dry heaving really feel like I need to throw up. Fixing to try and drink some broth.< /p>

m.simpson88 56 Posted July 29, 2013 Sorry for the late response, I am feeling much better. I can't keep any Protein Shake or drink down and I can't keep broth down. Makes me so sick. I also ended up with an upper respiratory infection. I am eating very soft puréed foods thinned out. And finally feel like this was all worth it. I felt so bad that I was getting onto myself because I chose to do this. 1 Mary G reacted to this
