I feel this weird movement in my belly near the port incision. I doubt it's "gas". The only think I can equate it to is the movements babies make inside the womb.... Like a "rolling" movement. Has anyone else experience this???

I've had the same sensation. It doesn't hurt (at least for me) but you described it perfectly- like when a baby rolls over during pregnancy. I've actually put my hand on the spot before half expecting to feel it.

Now, here's the weird thing: I never felt it until after my hernia repair/skin removal/tummy tuck surgery on May 1. Since then I've felt it many times. I just assumed it's because the muscles the port is attached to have been injured and tightened and they're spasming a bit as they heal. (it takes 3-6 months to fully heal from the surgery I had)

Mis73, you've been through a LOT!! Yeah, I guess it's the muscles complaining or trying to "accommodate" themselves.. Thanks! (I just don't wanna be calling the office for every little thing. Did you also have a hard time burping? It's killing me! Did you use any homemade remedies to get rid of gas?

You're recently post op, yes?

The best way to get rid of that gas is walking. The reason is, the gas is pumped into your abdominal cavity during surgery so it's not actually in your digestive system at all. That's why you can't burp it out.

Walking will help your body re-absorb it faster. Some find a heating pad to be soothing, too.

This happens to me all the time now! Except it's on the opposite side of my body from my port.

I've been having the same spasms on the opposite side of my band. I've name mine LapBaby. I constantly feel pregnant on a regular basis, most of my aches and pains have mimicked pregnancy. So strange it's been easy to adapt to

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
