Maddysgram 6,159 Posted July 24, 2013 LB manufacturers say 1-2 lbs per week, so 11 lbs is great and the inches are even better. Congrats! It can take a few fills before you reach restriction. Just keep with the plan, you're doing great. 5 melissag43, ☠carolinagirl☠, Sharpie and 2 others reacted to this

bandedQueenb 0 Posted July 29, 2013 That's great. I was banded on 6/17 and I've lost 20lb-had my 1st fill 2 woks ago and feel a little restriction but I so conscious about what goes in my mouth, I'm not really clearing 800 calories and I can get on the scale from morning to night and have 4 lb weight gain...how does that happen??? I'm going for a 2nd fill on 8/2. I workout like a mad woman. I don't know what else to do, I was losing weight more consistently before the band.

Your body goes into starvation mode and grabs every calorie you consume and stores it as fat. A better term would be survival mode. Your body is hanging onto every calorie so you can survive. You need calories to burn calories. Instead your body is like in shock and hangs onto every calorie. So instead of worrying about that 4 lbs. do yourself a favor and increase your caloric intake from 800 to at least 1000-1200. You'll see the difference. As your body loses the weight keep at that level. If you hit a plateau (weight is at a stand still for awhile), then you might want to temporarily decrease your calories but not for long. Good luck and I wish you well. The My Fitness Pal app is a great one to keep track of your calories and there is great support too!

Think long term...weeks, months, years. Just don't get dehydrated! And its certainly not unheard of to have a stall after you reintroduce "real" foods. Hang tough, and it will happen. Best wishes!
