I have been put out so many times and I must say, I enjoy it.lol

One minute you're there and the next your waking up in recovery. Like a blink of an eye!

Being scared, nervous and crying is also normal. You wouldn't be human, if you weren't a little nervous.

Good news is, the Drs and nurses are professionals and they take pride in keeping you alive.

Now try and relax and think of the new and improved you.

Its going to be awesome!

I felt the same way. Had a panic attack 20 mins before surgery and had to reschedule. When I did have the procedure, I was so angry with myself for getting worked up over nothing. Just stay calm relax, keep thinking about being on the other side. Pray to the god you serve and allow him to move mountains for you. It will be like having the best nap ever!!!!!!!

Awwww, sweetie, I know this can be a scary thing if you've never been put down before. I was actually scared because I WASN'T scared (I never am when going under) Focus on how your life is going to change for the better, and if you're a believer, have faith, The Lord will see you through! We will all be here waiting to hear about your experience. Be blessed and be still.

Well at first when I was getting prepped, about 10-15 minutes before surgery they gave me a "happy shot". Whatever it was, made me super relaxed similar to laughing gas, without all the laughing lol. I felt like I was floating, I barely remember being wheeled into the OR, and the next thing you know I woke up sitting up in a comfy chair with my dress on, under a blanket, with my Mom sitting there with me. You'll be fine!

Girl you have nothing to worry about. I've had surgery a few times and the best part of it is being put to sleep! La-la land is no place to fear, at all...I like it. LOL It's easy to see how Michael Jackson became addicted to it, seriously.

Now, happy thoughts...enjoy the process because when you get home and the hospital drugs wear off, you'll wish you had more. LOL

I've never had surgery before so I'm pretty scared. I guess you have to meditate before you go. Take deep breaths. Hope I don't have a panic attack

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
