Water, water and MORE water...

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Seems hard to get in the total of 64 oz. a day, regardless of what I add and flavor with.

I've tried starting early am, adding Vitamin Water, adding Crystal Light, etc. etc.... post-265905-13813142092928_thumb.jpg

Does anyone else have this issue and if so can you share your tips??

Thank you!

I have a drinking bottle I got from Wall-Mart and it holds 8 glasses of Water, I put crystal light in mine and keep it with me all the time putting ice as I go. I start first thing in the morning and don't stop till around dinner, that is when I'm normally empty. I just constantly keep drinking on it. Sometimes I have to admit I don't get in all in but for the most part I do, and I don't worry about the days I don't.

PS>> I use the crystal light that has energy I don't know if that make a difference or not, but it does provide more energy.

Don't have any tips! I try to drink my Water (etc), but if I don't get the proper amount in then I don't get it in. I figure it's like watching your food intake, sometimes thats not perfect either.

I have a 22oz container that i fill 3x a day. After Breakfast i will drink Water or mio i try to finish the whole thing before lunch. Then eat lunch, then after another container before dinner. After dinner i usually start craving a sweet snack and i will sometimes eat a popsicle slushie , then finish a third container, usually the Water keeps me full in between meals.

I wait until my stomach growls to eat now . If its not growling and i "think" im hungry i usually drink water and that does the trick

I try to keep a jug of Water with me, and give myself small goals throughout the day. Sometimes I'll say I won't talk to my coworkers unless I drink __ sips of water first or I can't get up from my desk to make copies/see a PT (I'm a counselor) until half of my water is done. Little competitions like that, because it's motivating to me. At first it was hard because I used to only like cold water, but once you get it in, it's like your body craves it. I can drink room temp water now, and usually "hunger" is really thirst. Good luck!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
